The Minnesota Twins postponed their Friday night game against the Kansas City Royals due to rain and rescheduled the engagement for this Saturday as part of a doubleheader.
With the sky overcast over the Target Field area, the announcement came just as it started to rain. The decision was made practically at the time the first pitch of the match was scheduled, which started the series.
It was Minnesota’s first game to be postponed in this 2020 campaign, which began four months late due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The doubleheader will begin this Saturday at 12:35 pm (1635 GMT). The second duel of the double function would begin 30 minutes after the first one ends.
All doubleheader games this season shortened to 60 games are played over seven innings.
The Twins and Royals will continue their four-game series on Sunday and Monday.
