He Franz Mayer Museum It opened its doors yesterday with a moderate influx, but eager to get out of the routine imposed by the coronavirus. This was expressed by some visitors who went to the museum complex located behind the Palace of Fine Arts.
In an interview with Excelsior, Alejandra de la Paz, director of the Franz Mayer, assured that the public can visit the museum from Tuesday to Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and assured that they have worked hard to guarantee the safety of the attendees.
We open with 30% of the capacity and with a maximum influx of almost a thousand people, distributed in all its rooms, so I would tell those who dare to visit us that it will be a spectacular way to experience a museum, because there will be few people, although few little by little, I suppose, we will resume the rhythm ”, he expressed.
He announced that on September 2 the World Press Photo exhibition will open and, for the first time, it will be sought that tickets can be purchased online to avoid waiting lines outside the museum.
Aldo González Diosdado is 28 years old, works in an NGO and was one of the first 20 visitors to enter the venue. In an interview, he assured that his visit was hopeful. “I have a Franz Mayer Museum membership, so I used to come frequently and now you can see that the spaces are wider and in the corridors it is well indicated where you can stand to keep your distance; in general the experience seemed very safe to me ”, he said.
