The The NFL reported Sunday that one of its test providers found multiple positive results for COVID-19. on the eve and the Chicago Bears said they had nine false positive results.
The league has asked New Jersey’s BioReference lab to investigate the results “while teams work to confirm or rule out positive tests.” The NFL did not identify the teams or say how many tests returned positive.
Two teams, Washington and Detroit said they would train Sunday, while Cleveland canceled their practice.
Teams are taking immediate precautionary measures as outlined in NFL-NFLPA health and safety protocols to include contact tracing, isolating individuals, and temporarily adjusting the schedule, if necessary. ”The NFL said in a statement. “The other labs used for the NFL tests have not returned similar results.”
The Bears moved their training schedule for Sunday in the morning to the afternoon.
