The Marie-Victorin School Services Center (CSSMV) is starting the procedures for appointing members of its first board of directors. An information session will be offered on August 27 to those interested in submitting their candidacy.
This board of directors will count on the commitment of five parents, five members of the community and five members of the CSS Marie-Victorin staff.
The parent of a student attending a CSS Marie-Victorin school, who will sit on its governing board and become a member of the parents’ committee, may submit an application. It is important to first follow the steps for setting up governing boards and the parents’ committee.
The five community representatives should have one of the following five profiles:
- Have expertise in governance, ethics, risk management or human resources management;
- Have expertise in financial or accounting matters or in the management of financial or material resources;
- Be from a community, sport or cultural background;
- Be from municipal, health, social services or business circles;
- Be between 18 and 35 years old.
The deadline to apply for a representative community member is September 29.
Parents’ representatives as well as those of the community must be domiciled on the territory of CSS Marie-Victorin and cannot be members of its staff.
In addition, five members of the CSSMV staff will also be part of the board, namely a member of the teaching staff, a member of the non-teaching professional staff, a member of the support staff, a director of an educational institution and a member of the supervisors.
The members of the board of directors will take office on October 15 and their first meeting is scheduled for October 20. They will not be remunerated, but will be entitled to an attendance allowance and the reimbursement of reasonable expenses incurred in the performance of their duties.
“It is with enthusiasm that we welcome the members of the first board of directors,” said CSSMV general manager Marie-Dominique Taillon. The call is therefore launched to those who wish to contribute to the success of the new governance and to the educational success of the students! ”
An information session is scheduled for August 27, at 6:30 p.m., at the administrative center (13, rue Saint-Laurent Est, in Longueuil (room Flore laurentienne)).
