Usain Bolt revealed on his social networks that he is awaiting the result of a coronavirus test and that he is quarantined as a precaution.
The 34-year-old retired sprinter, who completed the double in the 100 and 200 meters in the three previous Olympics, posted a video on his Instagram account on Monday to explain the situation.
“Good morning to all. I just woke up and, like everyone, when looking at social networks, they say that it was confirmed that I have COVID-19, “said the Jamaican star. “I took a test, because I have to work. I try to be responsible, so I will stay home, for my friends.
Bolt added that he is asymptomatic.
“You have to take care of yourself, I will be in quarantine and I will take it easy,” he said.
Bolt set the world records for the 100 and 200 meters at the 2009 World Athletics Championships in Berlin. He retired after the 2017 world championships.
