“Now you have COVID”: Police look for subject who hugged customers in a Massachusetts Walmart


The man uttered the macabre phrase after taking several people by surprise

A female cancer survivor reported to the authorities a macabre event that happened to her while she was shopping at a Massachusetts Walmart. An unidentified man came up to him, took the things from his hands and gave him a hug. Then he said: “I’m just giving you a COVID hug. Now you have COVID ”. The man laughed and walked away.

The police are looking for the subject, who hugged several customers in the same supermarket, located on Boston Road in the city of Springfield, southern Massachusetts. The man is suspected of intentionally infecting others with coronavirus.

The events happened last Saturday, August 15 around 7:10 pmBut the Springfield police posted the fact on their social media just a few days ago, on August 21.

The authorities ask citizens to call 413-787-6355, leave a private message on Facebook or write an anonymous text message Call 274637 if they have any information on the identity of the suspect.
