Clippers overwhelm Mavs and lead 3-2

Paul George scored 35 points, Kawhi Leonard added 32, and the Los Angeles Clippers crushed the Dallas Mavericks 154-111 on Tuesday night to take a 3-2 lead in their first-round series of the postseason.

Montrezl Harrell had 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Clippers, who set a franchise record for most points in a playoff game. Los Angeles can wrap up the series on Thursday.

Luka Doncic, who gave Dallas the win in Game 4 with an agonizing basket to cap a “triple double” with 43 points, was limited to 22 points, hitting six of 17 shots.

Mavs center Kristaps Porzingis missed the game with a sore right knee. It was the second engagement the seven-foot-three-inch (2.20-centimeter) Latvian missed.

Rick Carlisle, the Dallas coach, was sent off in the third period of a tense game, which included six technical fouls and one flagrant first-degree.
