The German Cup matches could be played with the public in the stands, as decided on Monday by the German Soccer Federation (DFB) after modifying the hygiene rules that also apply to third division and women’s football matches.
The Final decision on whether to allow fans to be present in stadiums will depend on the situation of coronavirus infections in the corresponding region and it must be agreed between the clubs and the local authorities.
Some Matches of the first round of the German Cup, scheduled for mid-September, could therefore have a limited number of fans presentwhile other games should still be played behind closed doors. Away team fans will not be allowed to attend games until the end of the year.
