Students and staff of the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR) will be able to celebrate the start of the school year with a major show for a 7e consecutive year, despite the presence of COVID-19 on Quebec soil. However, the show will be offered on screens rather than on university grounds.
Said show will feature the formations of Clay and Friends, as well as Motel Quality. The broadcast of the show – available for 24 hours – will be available on September 16. Students will receive a hyperlink from which they can access the broadcast of the show for free.
“Even today, it illustrates the capacity for innovation and invention that we have here at UQTR,” said Daniel McMahon, rector of UQTR. “We held a graduation ceremony and we were able to do it while respecting social distancing so we wanted to find a way to do our back-to-school show. It’s not just our professors and lecturers who have ingenuity, but our student services too. ”
“In short, we couldn’t make a comeback without a major event. Our show is a focal point for our students and it is our evening of the feeling of belonging. ”
Unlike in past years, when a few thousand students gathered around the stage, the 2020 show will be accessible to all 15,000 students, in addition to staff members. Please note that everyone who watches the show will also have the chance to win one of the eight $ 250 bursaries courtesy of the Fonds de solidarité FTQ.
