Times are tough in the world of sport and the limit on groupings of 250 people has just forced a team from the Quebec Senior AAA Hockey League (LHSAAAQ) to mourn the 2020-2021 season. Faced with the uncertainty and the current context, the organization of Formule Fitness de Bécancour has announced that it will take a break this season.
And it will be interesting to watch, in the coming days, if other teams will also be forced to draw a line on the next season. In the case of Bécancour, several factors led the group of owners to make this difficult and heartbreaking decision, notably a maximum authorized capacity of less than 250 spectators in their case, or 166.
“Several solutions were considered by the governors, in particular the establishment of a principle of income sharing. After evaluation, the operation would have turned out to be too risky for all our concessions, ”commented President Dominic Lussier.
The Formula Fitness organization is committed to be back in the circuit from the 2021-2022 season.
In the case of Cloutier Air Conditioning in Cap-de-la-Madeleine, moving to the former Coliseum in Trois-Rivières should leave them ample room to crowd 250 people, while respecting social distancing.
Remember that the LHSAAAQ has still not finalized its return to action, so the date of the return to play is still unknown.
