During a press conference he gave on Friday, the president Trump said Congress should redirect $ 300 billion in unused coronavirus pandemic relief funds to give people a second stimulus check to citizens, as reported on the portal WGN9.

“We have $ 300 billion ready to go, all Congress has to do is say ‘use it,'” Trump said.

Trump did not specify where he got the $ 300 billion figure from, although you may be talking about unused business loan money included in the CARES Act passed in March.

Vice President Mike Pence also expressed support for more stimulus checks.

“Nobody wants to give direct payments to American families more than President Donald Trump. We sent those checks to American families (and) they helped people through this difficult time, ”Pence said.

Also, earlier this week, Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said that the administration remains willing to work on a bipartisan agreement to help with more financial support to small businesses, the unemployed, children and schools.

Lawmakers have yet to pass a second relief package, which is expected to be granted this year.
