Trois-Rivières’ economic recovery will be guided by 18 concrete actions stemming from the nine strategies unveiled in June by the economic recovery committee. $ 7.6 million will be devoted to reviving the economy.

The funds will be divided between different orientations: strengthening the supply of value-added services to support entrepreneurship and business competitiveness ($ 4.5 million), stimulating innovation in businesses to accelerate transitions digital and ecological ($ 1.9 million), generate economic spinoffs for businesses, restaurants and attractions in Trois-Rivières ($ 400,000) and continue to develop the ecosystems surrounding the strategic development centers ($ 800,000).

Of this amount, $ 4.2 million comes from the envelope allocated by the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation for the Emergency Assistance program for SMEs, while $ 446,000 was granted by the City of Trois -Rivers. Private partners have also joined the initiative. These will be unveiled in the coming weeks.

Several of the 18 measures have already been put in place during the summer, such as the proximity tourist campaign for the summer season, the offer of opportunities to rediscover the city and to set up a sanitary brigade in the city center. The platform Work in Trois-Rivières has also been adapted to services since initially the labor shortage affected this sector less.

“The recovery plan was an opportunity to experiment with new ways of doing economic development. Trois-Rivières is in good shape and we must remain proactive and vigilant, ”emphasizes the Director General of Innovation and Economic Development (IDÉ) Trois-Rivières, Mario De Tilly.

About twenty entrepreneurs have also shown interest in the My digital shift component, while 13 companies have been supported by the initiative Creative on request.

Among the other actions of the recovery plan, it is also a question of offering technical and strategic assistance to “locomotive” companies and setting up an incentive to encourage local suppliers.

A local buying campaign aimed at stimulating economic activity will also be implemented soon. This campaign to promote local businesses and products by TRès Trois-Rivières will be rolled out in the region, an initiative worth a total of $ 100,000 in which all the local media collaborate.

The establishment of an incentive for the adoption of sustainable practices as well as reviews of the social, environmental and governance performance of organizations that request any financial assistance from IDÉ Trois-Rivières is also in the plans.

Some $ 150,000 will also be allocated over the next few weeks to innovative stimulus projects through a collaboration between IDE Trois-Rivières and Culture Trois-Rivières.
