The Generation Challenge against COVID, an event bringing together four hospital foundations from the Montérégie region, will have significant current and future impacts for the Hôtel-Dieu de Sorel Foundation and its hospital. Because the pandemic has transformed the hospital environment.
There are many needs to which the Hôtel-Dieu de Sorel must meet, including that of increasing the number of day-to-day facilities so that they are dedicated to customers in presumptive isolation.
Future needs will be as great as today’s. The arrival of the pandemic has transformed the hospital environment, and considering the importance of staying in a cold zone, rigorous measures must be put in place.
From the start of the pandemic, in March, the hospital management was able to put measures in place very quickly so that the departments were ready for any eventuality and above all, to meet the various needs. Changes have already been made to facilitate the maintenance and disinfection of equipment. An increased effort has been made in the various departments in order to have equipment dedicated to each patient.
Through these new measures, the Hôtel-Dieu de Sorel Foundation has implemented several actions to motivate and psychologically support the staff of the Hôtel-Dieu de Sorel as well as the CLSC Gaston-Bélanger during this crisis.
