The Second District Judge in Amparo and Federal Trials of the State of Mexico, María del Socorro Castillo Sánchez, ordered the authorities of the Federal maximum security prison of the Altiplano, attend medically the former director of the Board of Trustees of the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo (UAEH), Gerardo Sosa Castelán, who is currently imprisoned by the crimes of money laundering and organized crime.

After an analysis of the demand for guarantees presented by the defense of Sosa Castelán, last Thursday, September 17, against the director and other authorities of the Cefereso number 1 Altiplano, the Federal judge granted the recourse to the former official so that those responsible for said prison provide medical care and supply medications.
“The claimed act, consisting of the refusal to provide medical attention and grant the supply of medicines, is suspended outright and ex officio, for the effect that according to your clinical record and with respect to the conditions you have, you receive the medical attention that in your case require. Therefore, the integrity and health of the complainant is in charge and under the responsibility of the responsible authorities ”, declared Castillo Sánchez.
In her mandate, the Federal Judge indicated that “said responsible authorities are warned so that within 24 hours they report on the manner and terms in which they have complied with this suspension outright, adding to said report a certified copy of the respective certificates, in order to prove his saying ”.
In this sense, Castillo Sánchez instructed an actuary, assigning him the task of supervising the medical support, as well as requesting the prisoner to ratify or not the amparo, in turn, reproached the management of that penitentiary that, in case of ignoring the injunction, they could be awarded a sanction and even disqualification that would go from 3 to 9 years in prison, in addition to a fine of 50 to 500 days of minimum wage.

The guarantee indicates that, if you do not do so, it will be considered as not presented and the suspension ordered will be rendered null and void. grant medical attention to the complainant.
