Patrollers from the Trois-Rivières Police Department intervened in two residences, rue Hart and rue St-François Xavier, this afternoon, to arrest two suspects of domestic violence.
At around 10:50 am this morning, a call directed the police to an apartment in the Trois-Rivières Ouest sector. There, they met a 34-year-old lady who was injured following domestic violence that night. She was taken to the hospital to have her state of health checked.
Although his injuries are serious, there is no fear for his life.
Subsequently, the police proceeded to an apartment on Hart Street, downtown area, where the events allegedly took place, in order to arrest a suspect.
Having reason to believe that he might be in possession of a firearm, the police set up a security perimeter and contacted the suspect. He surrendered peacefully and the police arrested him around 1:50 p.m.
A few moments later, police officers held the same operation near a residence on rue St-François Xavier, to arrest a second suspect in this case. He surrendered without resistance and the police arrested him around 2:25 p.m.
The two suspects, aged 41 and 50, were taken to Headquarters to be met by investigators. The two men are scheduled to appear tomorrow on charges of assault with bodily harm, forcible confinement and death threats.
