The Dukes of Longueuil will face the Diamants de Québec in the playoff final. They are looking for a first championship title since 2007.
For the first time in the history of the Quebec Elite Junior Baseball League (LBJEQ), the semi-final games were all played on the same day, September 19, in Repentigny.
After losing to the Diamonds in their first game, the Longueuil team had to win their second matchup by at least 4 points against the Royal de Repentigny to secure their place in the final. She achieved this by defeating her opponents by a count of 12 to 2.
Samuel Nadeau, Ludovic Messier, Samuel Rajotte, Jacob Bourque and Félix Labonté all had a good game with the Dukes.
“The victory went to the record of Ludovic Messier (1-0) who, in his fourth outing only as a pitcher in the LBJEQ, brilliantly pitched five innings in relief to Yuri O’Connor-Yokohama. Messier only gave up three meager hits in five innings, striking out five batters to sign the victory, ”the League wrote in a statement.
The final series will begin on September 24 in a 3-of-5 formula.
