The government announced on September 24 that waiting times walk-in screening clinics were now available in real time on Internet. However, this is not the case in Montérégie. Why ? There is no screening clinic without a fixed appointment, justifies the Ministry of Health.
The Montérégie instead relies on mobile clinics to cover its territory. The objective of getting around is to get closer to the population and to outbreaks, explains Mélissa Gilbert, information officer for external communications at the Integrated Health and Social Services Center of Montérégie-Ouest. “In collaboration with the Direction de santé publique de la Montérégie, the establishment analyzes the current portrait and tries as much as possible to position the screening clinics near the outbreak sites in the days that follow, in order to make services in proximity to needs and taking into account the size of the territory, ”she mentions.
CISSSMO uses a voucher system to manage the wait time at these mobile clinics. “We therefore do not manage a waiting list. It is for this reason that the waiting time for our mobile clinics is not listed on the ministry’s website, ”explains Ms. Gilbert.
