The National Hurricane Center (NHC), based in Miami, United States, said for its part that “extremely dangerous hurricane conditions are expected for the northeast of the Yucatan Peninsula as of Wednesday.”
State authorities of Quintana Roo and Yucatán increased their civil protection alerts due to the forecast that Delta will impact their territories this Tuesday night, already as a category 3 hurricane.

In Quintana Roo, authorities declared the orange alert, highly dangerous, for Tulum, Solidaridad, Cozumel, Puerto Morelos, Benito Juárez, Isla Mujeres and Lázaro Cárdenas, all municipalities in the north of the state.
While in Yucatan authorities also determined an orange alert for municipalities at risk.
