The Government of Mexico City adjusted its daily report of COVID-19 to the methodology of the Federation by means of which people who had contact with patients with this disease will be counted as positive, without the need for laboratory confirmation, therefore Yesterday 1,386 deaths were reported, a day before there were 25.
“We discussed it with the team that makes the report, it was adjusted to the same methodology that Dr. Hugo López-Gatell presented. We seek that there is no difference between the information that we give and that given by the government of Mexico, in any case we give additional information, “explained the head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
On October 1, Mexico City reported 43 deaths from COVID-19; on day 2 it was 60; on the 3rd, 28 were registered; On October 4, 25, and 5, the report was 1,386 deaths.
Sheinbaum Pardo said that the two methodologies will be published, that is, the one that includes only people confirmed with the virus and the one that adds suspicious deaths, in such a way that there is continuity in the report that had been given and also the new methodology presented on Monday by the Undersecretary for Health Promotion and Prevention, Hugo López-Gatell.
“What we do is give daily follow-up to many indicators that allow us to know if we are waiting or are beginning to reappear in order to make decisions,” said the president.
He assured that hospitalization is stable in the City and there was a significant decrease of 350 occupied beds, between September 15 and this Tuesday; however, he called on the population to continue taking care of themselves, since the possibility of a regrowth is not ruled out.
“In the last few days we have had stabilization again. We do not see signs of an outbreak, that does not mean that it cannot happen, but we have to continue to take care of ourselves, because in Mexico City we have around 2,000 500 people hospitalized “.
He stressed that the indicators are being monitored daily that allow us to know if a regrowth is expected and thus be able to make decisions.
