Canadian National (CN) has undertaken to install a permanent rail lubricator near the Victoria Bridge in Saint-Lambert, in order to reduce noise on this section as well as on the secondary diversion track. News that delighted municipal councilor Loïc Blancquaert.
“The residents of the district that I represent and who live on either side of the railway line are particularly affected by the noise of the trains which run night and day on this section, which is the busiest in Canada,” he recalls. I thank CN for taking the necessary steps to alleviate this problem and I am confident this solution can make a difference. ”
The rail lubricator can reduce the squealing of car wheels on the rails, while allowing a very significant reduction in the wear of the wheels and the rails.
The system should be installed over the next few months. (GM)
