The South Korean Kim Sei-young, in search of his first major title, finished this Saturday with a card with 67 hits (-3) and increased his lead to two hits after the third round of the LPGA Golf Championship.
The 27-year-old from Seoul, whose most recent of her 10 LPGA wins was at the Tour Championship last year, topped with a total of 203 shots (-7) after 54 holes at Aronimink in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania.
Kim, who was leading by a hit when the third round began, made six birdies to three bogeys, throwing a six-foot putt from the left edge of the cup on the 18th hole a three-shot lead heading into Sunday’s final round.
The Swedish Anna Nordqvist and Canadian Brooke Henderson shared second place with 205 hits with South Korean Park In-bee, in fourth place, with 206 hits, and Philippine Bianca Pagdanganan, 22, fifth with 207.
The Mexican Gaby López and Spanish Carlota Ciganda finished the round tied in sixth place with two other players, all with 208 strokes.
