The pandemic is destroying the Christmas market and the traditions of Longueuil –

There will not be a Longueuil Christmas and Traditions Market that will animate St. Mark Park this year. Métiers & Traditions and the City of Longueuil announced the cancellation of this 14th edition, which was to be held from November 27 to December 20.

This decision, deemed necessary in order to maintain the safety of participants and citizens while the entire Montérégie will pass into the red zone, is a heavy blow to all the craftsmen who took place in the wooden houses to promote their products. The holiday season remains a crucial period for these entrepreneurs in the region.

Last year, around sixty artisans took part in the Christmas & Traditions Market.

Métiers & Traditions emphasizes the importance of local know-how and local purchasing. “In order to showcase its artisans and creators, the Métiers & Traditions team is currently evaluating various options in order to reinvent this 14th edition,” the press release said.

Announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
