Agents of the Tamaulipas State Police rescued in the municipality of Matamoros 13 migrants who were abandoned to their luck in a safe house.
The Ministry of Public Security reported that the actions were carried out at 3:00 p.m. in the Section 11 neighborhood, at west of the city towards Reynosa.
The officers were surveillance patrol and they noticed that two people who were walking ran when they saw them and tried to get into a house.
Following them, they arrived at the property, finding a group of people who confessed to being migrants and who were waiting to be crossed into the United States, but who for several days they had been abandoned by the traffickers.
Once the ladies authorities arrived they proceeded to feed them, hydrate and check them medically to rule out Covid-19.
Among those assisted there are three people from Guatemala, one of Honduras, another more of Ecuador.
The other eights are mexicans, of which there were two women and one child under 17 years of age.
Regarding this last group, the authorities released them for not breaking any law, while the rest went to Migration’s national institute to study their legal status.
