Fourth femicide is charged with an alleged serial murderer in Sinaloa

Rosario Alfonso “R”, located as a serial murderer of women in Sinaloa, was linked to a fourth process, as responsible for the femicide against the young Lucia Mariana “M”, who disappeared on December 11, 2019 and whose body was located five days later, in the San Rafael ejido, Sindicatura de Costa Rica in Culiacán.

The defendant, who since last January has been detained and linked to criminal proceedings for the death of the young Ana Karen “N”, faces four similar proceedings for his alleged participation in femicides.

The State Attorney General’s Office announced that in the initial hearing held on September 3, within the criminal case 693/2020, the Public Ministry made an accusation for the crime of femicide but, at the request of its defense, the hearing was deferred to October 22 of this year.

In the continuation of this, Rosario Alfonso “R” was linked to a process with the precautionary measure of informal preventive detention and a three-month term was set for the complementary investigation.

According to the investigations, the young Lucia Mariana “M” disappeared on the night of December 11, after notifying her family via text that she would attend the Virgin’s Day celebrations at the temple of La Lomita, located in the neighborhood. Guadalupe de Culiacán.

On December 16, his body was found on a dirt road that connects to the San Rafael ejido, in the receivership of Costa Rica. Forensic, chemical and field investigations confirmed that it was the same person who had previously deprived two young women of their lives.

Last September, a control judge linked him to a new criminal process for the crime of femicide, with which he accumulated four processes for crimes committed between December 2018 and January 2020.

The State Attorney General’s Office explained that the new case corresponds to the murder of Melissa Angélica “E”, whose body was found in one of the streets of the municipal cemetery of the 21 de Marzo neighborhood, in this city, on December 18, 2018 .

Due to this fact, it was possible to integrate all the evidences and necessary proofs of his participation in the investigation folder, so that in the initial hearing, held on September 7, within the criminal case 505/2020, the Control Judge linked him to process with the precautionary measure of preventive detention.

According to the investigations of this feminicide, the body of Melissa “E” was found with traces of blows, tied hands and feet, with tan adhesive tape, in one of the streets of the municipal cemetery of the 21 de Marzo neighborhood.

Rosario Alfonso “R” has been in prison since last January and is considered a serial murderer, due to his alleged links to the murders of four young people, between December 2018 and January of this year.

Last January he was arrested and linked to criminal proceedings for the femicide of the young girl Ana Karen “N”, originally from the state of Sonora, whose body was found in a motel room, located at the southern exit of the state capital.
