The CIUSSS de la Mauricie-et-du-Center-du-Québec has registered 38 new cases of COVID-19 in the territory in the past 24 hours. This is the second day in a row that we see an increase of less than 40 cases daily.
“Although the valuation is based on a longer-term trend, the smallest increases seen over the past two days are encouraging. It is therefore essential that compliance with health measures be maintained so that the decrease in the number of new cases continues and that we can consider a return to a lower level of alert ”, mentions Dre Marie Josée Godi, director of public health and population responsibility at the CIUSSS MCQ.
Thus, the number of new cases has increased by 21 in Mauricie and 17 in Center-du-Québec, while 59 people have recovered from COVID-19.
There are two new cases in Sainte-Thècle, two in Notre-Dame-du-Mont-Carmel, one in Saint-Étienne-des-Grès, eight in Trois-Rivières and eight in Shawinigan.
As for schools, new cases have been added to the schools of La Source, Val-Mauricie, Cardinal-Roy, Envolée, Bois-Joli, Jacques-Buteux and Séminaire St-Joseph, as well as the CFP Qualitech, at the Adult Education Center – De la Salle building.
Outbreaks at CHAUR appear to be under control as no new COVID-19 positive cases have been reported to the surgical unit (4J) and COVID unit (4N) over the past day .
The outbreak of the neurology unit (2J) was lifted considering that there had been no new acquisitions in the last 14 days.
It should nevertheless be noted that a case among users, the acquisition of which took place before October 10, was added to the overall portrait of this outbreak for a total of 23 users.
Intensive care hospitalizations fell to 3 cases (-1), for a total of 23 hospitalizations. No new deaths have occurred in the region during the past day.
There are now 748 active cases on the territory of the CIUSSS MCQ.
