COVID-19: 87 new cases in Mauricie / Center-du-Québec – L’

The most recent daily report from the CIUSSS de la Mauricie-et-du-Center-du-Québec reports 87 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the territory, including 53 in Mauricie.

In Trois-Rivières alone, we have recorded 30 new cases in the last 24 hours. There are also 11 new cases in Shawinigan, one in the MRC des Chenaux, eight in the MRC de Mékinac, one in La Tuque and two in the MRC de Maskinongé (Yamachiche and Louiseville).

There are new cases in several schools in the region: Adult Education Center, La Providence, Paul-Le Jeune, École Sainte-Marie, Val-Mauricie, Académie les Estacades, Cardinal-Roy, des Pionniers and the school. Pointe-du-Lac (Notre-Dame pavilion).

This brings the number of active cases to 722. At the same time, 106 people have recovered from COVID-19 since the last assessment on Wednesday.

Hospitalizations fell again (-1) in the last day, bringing the total to 18. This decrease occurred in the intensive care sector which currently has 4 people hospitalized.

Opening of the new screening clinic in Shawinigan

The new designated screening clinic (CDD) in Shawinigan will officially open its doors on Tuesday, November 3. It will be located at 3423, boulevard Royal, in Shawinigan, in the building next to Plaza de la Mauricie. A total of 300 screenings per day can be carried out there.

As with other large-volume clinics, the Shawinigan CDD will be open 7 days a week, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Accessibility with and without appointment

The walk-in option is still available and has been extended for an indefinite period for all of our massive screening clinics. Here is the walk-in schedule for each CDD:

  • Shawinigan – Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Trois-Rivières – Monday to Friday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
