Johnny Flynn is David Bowie in ‘Stardust’ biopic

Actor and musician Johnny flynn (‘Beast’, ‘Trip to Sils Maria’) transforms into the mythical David Bowie in ‘Stardust’, the biopic about the iconic singer directed by Gabriel Range (‘I Am Slave’) and that
It will narrate the first years of the legendary artist’s career.

The movie, which promises to explore the man who was hiding behind the different artistic masks of the chameleon Bowie, will go back to 1971, when at just 24 years old Bowie traveled to the United States to promote his new album, ‘The Man Who Sold the World’.

The artist left behind his pregnant wife Angie, who will be interpreted by Jena Malone (‘Too old to die young’) and together with his band he embarked on an impromptu promotional tour of
coast to coast of the country with the representative of Mercury Records, Rob Oberman played by Marc Maron (‘Glow’).

The biopic does not have the support of the singer’s family, who died in January 2016. By not having the authorization of the artist’s heirs, Bowie’s music cannot be included in the film.

It is clear to me that no one has been granted the musical rights to make any biopic, I would have known, “wrote Duncan Jones, Bowie’s son, on his Twitter account at
January 2019, when the signing of Johnny Flynn for the film became known.
