With 63 votes in favor and 37 against, the Senate generally approved the opinion that reforms the Federal Law on Rights.
After almost four hours of debate on the Fiscal Package as a whole, the plenary session of the Senate approved the Federal Law of Rights in general and immediately entered the review in particular.
The assembly previously discussed in general also the opinions of the modifications to the VAT, ISR and Fiscal Code of the Federation laws, as well as the opinion of the 2021 Income Law.
It is expected that the plenary session will approve various changes to the Fiscal Package, and that at the end of the voting they will be returned to the Chamber of Deputies for review.
Eventually, the pending vote and debate could vent this Friday, when the time limit provision of the Upper House sessions is met, in accordance with the preventive health protocol of Covid-19.
Most argue that it increases collection in the midst of the crisis and protects social spending; the opposition deplores that it is a centralist package.
