The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, confirmed that in the morning meeting this Friday, Alfonso Durazo had already submitted his resignation as Secretary of Security.
In that sense, The president announced that Rosa Icela Rodríguez will be the next secretary of Public Safety and Citizen Protection, if she accepts the position.
“We still do not know if he will accept, because he is finding out, but I am taking advantage of it so that it is known,” said the president.
Regarding this proposal, López Obrador stressed that Rosa Icela Rodríguez “is a woman who comes from below, originally from the Huasteca Potosina, from a humble family, is a journalist by profession.”
