The most recent daily report from the CIUSSS de la Mauricie-et-du-Center-du-Québec reports 70 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the territory, including 50 in Mauricie.
In Trois-Rivières alone, there have been 23 new cases in the last 24 hours. There are also 7 new cases in Shawinigan, 7 in the MRC des Chenaux, 8 in the MRC de Mékinac, 5 in the MRC de Maskinongé and no increase in Haut-Saint-Maurice.
There are new cases in several schools in the region: Du Rocher, Masson, Paul-Le Jeune, Val-Mauricie, Adult Education Center (Lasalle building), Cardinal-Roy and Louis-de-France.
The number of people recovered from COVID-19 stands at 80. An increase of 4 hospitalizations was observed in the last day, bringing the total to 24.
Currently, the region has 65 outbreaks, mostly in work (31) and school (21) settings. Few outbreaks affect residential homes for the elderly in the community (2) and no outbreak has occurred in long-term care homes (CHSLD) in the 2e pandemic wave.
