Fepade signs agreements with State Prosecutor’s Offices

José Agustín Ortiz Pinchetti, head of the Electoral Prosecutor’s Office, pointed out that a series of acts of political good will is being achieved.


In order to prevent electoral crimes and reinforce coordination between the law enforcement authorities of each state, the General Prosecutor of the Republic (FGR), through the Special Prosecutor for Electoral Crimes (FEDE), signed agreements with the attorney general’s offices from Aguascalientes, Colima, Jalisco, Michoacán and Querétaro.

José Agustín Ortiz Pinchetti, head of the Electoral Prosecutor’s Office, pointed out that a series of acts of political goodwill and a legal commitment thanks to these agreements, which are drawn up to create the basis for a synergy between local and federal authorities with the aim of eliminating irregularities and electoral fraud. He added that this is creating a panorama of credible and fair elections that will lead Mexico to an effective democracy.

He added that several agreements of this nature have been made, and specifically in Coahuila and Hidalgo where they had their operation and smooth running, “Which paints a good scenario for democracy in our country.”

Jesús Figueroa Ortega, Aguascalientes attorney general, celebrated the signing of this collaboration agreement, since next year they will have elections in the state, of which 11 are for mayors and 18 places for local deputies. Said to be committed to democracy and with the institutions that represent him, for this he thanked Ortiz Pinchetti for the invitation for Aguascalientes to sign these agreements.

For his part, Gabriel Verduzco Rodríguez, attorney general of Colima, thanked the attention and collaboration on these issues, since that Colima will have a change of state governor in the next elections, 10 municipal presidencies and 25 state deputies and four federal deputies.

Gerardo Octavio Solís Gómez, Jalisco prosecutor, said that in the state, the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Electoral Crimes, by disposition of Congress, is an independent Prosecutor’s Office, but somehow maintains a close coordination bond with this agency, for this, he thanked the invitation to this agreement signature that will help rise to the occasion with all the necessary infrastructure to cover any eventuality.

In his participation, Adrián López Solís, prosecutor of Michoacán, expressed that this agreement is a great opportunity because it becomes an instrument that will guarantee the free exercise of the popular will.

Alejandro Echeverría Cornejo, prosecutor of Querétaro, also thanked teacher Ortiz Pinchetti for the opportunity to sign this agreement and reported that yesterday the State Prosecutor’s Office signed a agreement with all the electoral bodies of the entity, with the local INE board, with the electoral tribunal and with the Jalisco Electoral Institute.
