Neza rebounds in cases of covid, thus reinforcing measures

In Nezahualcóyotl, there was a rebound in covid-19 cases, since 411 cases were reported last week, which would represent the third highest week since the pandemic began.

Juan Hugo de la Rosa mayor of Nezahualcóyotl reported that due to the increase in cases of covid-19 that occurred in recent weeks in Nezahualcóyotl in order to prevent it from getting out of control and leading to a reversal of the epidemiological traffic light to red , preventive sanitary measures will be reinforced with a self-care campaign that will consist of the delivery of 100,000 face masks in markets, flea markets and public transport, as well as the placement of 40,000 posters and stickers on the use of this protection instrument in streets and shops.

The mayor pointed out that last week 411 new cases were presented, the third highest week since the pandemic began, so only with self-care will it be possible to contain this rebound and also reduce it, so that 100,000 masks will be distributed, which They were donated by the Qatari embassy, ​​in the 69 markets, 64 local flea markets, as well as in 55 public transport points.

Accompanied by members of the Cabildo and municipal officials and after being vaccinated against influenza at the Aurora health center, the municipal president invited the population, mainly older adults, children between 6 months and 5 years of age, or suffering from any disease chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, cancer, among others, to approach any of the 17 health centers that are in the municipality to get vaccinated against influenza, since the winter season is about to begin, and the symptoms of this disease are very similar to those of covid-19, and not having the vaccine would complicate the diagnosis.

He specified that, in public transport, of the total of face masks, 20 thousand will be distributed in 29 points at the Pantitlán metro stop due to its intense influx in coordination with the Pantitlán Modal Transfer Center (CETRAM), 6 in mid-points of roads within Nezahualcóyotl territory, in 16 public transport bases in the central and eastern areas and 4 more in the northern part of the municipality, for passengers and drivers.

De la Rosa García pointed out that the posters and stickers have messages to raise awareness in the population to make a community effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 again through the use of the mask, while the sticker can be requested with the delivery of the face mask, which includes a message to ensure the health of families through self-care, which can be placed in their homes or cars.
