The Secretary of the Interior, Olga Sánchez Cordero, criticized the Governor of Michoacán, Silvano Aureoles, for posting a video on his social networks in which he persuaded the migrant community not to vote for Donald Trump in the elections on November 3.
The head of the Interior considered that Mexico has been left in a “very delicate” position in foreign policy matters, after Silvano Aureoles said that Donald Trump is a president who has discriminated against Mexicans, while his opponent, Joe Biden, has Charitable proposals for the migrant community.
In a letter sent to the governor of Michoacán, Secretary Sánchez Cordero criticizes the president for confusing the call to vote with favoring one candidate over another, in addition to reminding him that foreign policy is in charge of the federal government.
“To meddle in the way you do in the internal affairs of another country, in an external electoral process, to do foreign policy when it is not your responsibility, constitutes a violation of the Constitution,” Sánchez Cordero wrote in his letter.
According to Silvano Aureoles, in the United States there are more than 4.5 million Michoacanos, whom he described as a very powerful community and said that they will be very decisive in next week’s elections.
