The pandemic is unlikely to end in 2021 or 2022

MEXICO CITY.

The Undersecretary of Health, Hugo López-Gatell, said last night that it is unlikely that the COVID-19 epidemic will end throughout 2021 or even in 2022, because the intensity of the disease occurs at different times.

We all want to see that the epidemic disappears forever, and is eliminated. We have already said, this is very unlikely, I am not saying it to discourage us, just so that we are aware of what can happen to us as the whole of humanity, I am not talking about Mexico only, ”he said.

He called for extreme precautions on October 31, November 1 and 2, on the occasion of the Day of the Dead celebrations.

He indicated that the conditions of the epidemic make those days increase the possibility of infections, so people should stay at home.

All the people who can live in public space can potentially infect if they have covid, even if they do not know it because they do not present symptoms, ”said López-Gatell.

It confirmed the death of 90,773 people since the pandemic began, with 464 more deaths. 5 thousand 948 more cases were registered, for a total of 912 thousand 811. The estimate of total cases is one million 61 thousand 692.
