Although in Mexico City many people have been observed on the street without face masks or healthy distance, in addition to the fact that in recent days there has been an increase in hospitalizations of COVID-19 patients, the Head of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo He insisted that the residents of the capital will not be fined and ruled out the possibility of a curfew.
The president rejected the announcement of the return of the red traffic light today; however, it is analyzed whether there will be time restrictions or some activities.
“Until now there has been a lot of citizen participation and we are going to continue betting on them (…) the City has been able to maintain the situation, we are not going to fine people, make curfews, it is completely ruled out” .
He stressed that in coordination with the Undersecretary of Health, Hugo López-Gatell, the measures to be taken are being evaluated.
“If it continues to increase next week, we should already do it [mayor restricción] next week. We are taking the measures responsibly, without any pressure, always balancing economic activity, jobs, family income and health protection, “said Sheinbaum Pardo.
