Restrictions for COVID-19 hospitalizations prepared in Mexico City

The head of Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, gave one more week of margin to reduce hospitalizations for COVID-19, but in case they increase, he warned, next Friday, time restriction measures will be established in some activities.

“In case of continuing to increase the number of hospitalizations during the next week, we would be announcing for next Friday time restriction measures (…) as the previous time worked a lot for the territorial work we are doing, we believe that it can give its fruits from next week, if not, it means that different activities are causing this number of infections. “

The capital will remain on an orange traffic light for the nineteenth consecutive week.

Sheinbaum Pardo explained that inspection visits, surveillance, territorial activity, and the work in 82 Health Kiosks and in the 158 neighborhoods with the most active cases will be strengthened.

He reported that from October 24 to 29 there has been an increase in hospitalizations with or without a ventilator in the City. On the 24th there were 2,770 and on the 29th there were 2,893.
