Spain closes case against Humberto Moreira

The trial that Spain is following against the former governor of Coahuila and former national leader of the PRI, Humberto Moreira Valdés, was suspended, a firm resolution for which no appeal is possible.

The Criminal Chamber of the National High Court confirmed the criteria of the Central Investigating Court number 1 of the National High Court of Spain, completely rejecting the appeal filed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, fully confirming the dismissal of Humberto Moreira Valdés.

In a statement issued by the state president reported “The Fourth Section of the National Court of Spain, a Chamber composed of Judges Teresa Palacios Criado (Judge-Speaker), Ángela Murillo Bordallo and Judge Juan Francisco Martel Rivero, has resolved to confirm the decision of dismissal agreed on August 31 by the Central Court of Instruction number 1, dismissing the appeal for reform and subsidiary appeal filed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The former state president made public his satisfaction with this new and definitive acknowledgment of his innocence and regretted the suffering that his wife, children and relatives have suffered as a result of the accusations of those who, for years, have not ceased in their efforts to litigate the facts. of all kinds.

“Unlike them, who are being tried, Humberto Moreira Valdés has proven his innocence,” the statement concluded.

In January 2016, Humberto Moreira Valdés, was arrested in Madrid in the framework of an operation carried out by Judge Santiago Pedraz, for the crime of money laundering, illegal for which no evidence was found in the European country from drug trafficking or corruption.
