Spain concludes case against Humberto Moreira

The trial against the former governor of Coahuila, Humberto Moreira was closed by the National Court of Spain, in a “firm resolution for which no appeal is possible.”

According to a statement, it is defined that the fourth section of the National Court ratified the acquittal against the also former national leader of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), by rejecting in its entirety the appeal made by the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

According to the brief, it stands out that Humberto Moreira said he was satisfied with the recognition of his innocence and regretted the consequences his family suffered due to the investigation.

It should be remembered that it was in August 2018 when a Spanish judge reopened the money laundering investigation against Humberto, after revelations made by two witnesses to the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, legal sources indicated.
