Cowboys confirm Dalton’s absence

The Dallas Cowboys confirmed that their quarterback Andy Dalton will miss this Sunday’s game in Philadelphia, due to a concussion, which opened the door for Ben DiNucci to play his first opening match.

DiNucci will appear Sunday night against the Eagles (2-4-1) in his home state of Pennsylvania. Former Pittsburgh quarterback finished his college career at James Madison, the school he guided to the FCS conference championship game, before being drafted by Dallas in the seventh round of the draft.

Will be the third meeting DiNucci is active with the Cowboys (2-5). He received the last centers in the beating suffered against Arizona, Dalton’s first kickoff game as a replacement for Dak Prescott, who was out for the entire season with a horrifying ankle injury.

DiNucci released his first pass last week, in the loss to Washington.

Dalton, holder for nine years in Cincinnati before signing a one-year contract as a replacement for Prescott, suffered the concussion in the third quarter of the duel against Washington.

The aggression led to linebacker Jon Bostic was sent off.
