They remember victims of femicide with Day of the Dead offerings

The Day of the Dead offerings for Fernanda, Verónica and Beatriz not only have the photographs of the three young women who were murdered on the streets of Naucalpan and Tlalnepantla, they also have in common that the investigations are not progressing and the culprits are unpunished, say mothers and fathers and brothers of professional women.

Fer’s killer is still free

Wings, a quesadilla, water, a vat of raspberry and sushi are part of the offering of Fernanda Sabalza, a pedagogy student who died at the age of 19 on June 20, after that Saturday she left her home in Azcapotzalco to wear nails and his body was found in Los Reyes Ixtacala, in Tlalnepantla, State of Mexico.

Four months after Fernanda’s murder, there is no progress in the investigation or arrests, so her murderer is still free, laments Mauricio, father of the young woman who also left a child.

This Saturday, Fernanda’s family and friends left the Azcapotzalco mayor’s esplanade to reach Somex Avenue, in Los Reyes Ixtacala, where they placed an offering at the site where the young woman was murdered.

“Justice for Fernanda!” was the scream that the family and friends of the student expressed during their tour.

Four months after the homicide, the companions walked several kilometers for more than two hours to reach the point where Fernanda was shot by a man who is free.
