District 31 fan Noémie Mercille dies –

Recognized as one of the greatest fans of District 31, who wanted to make a career as a dog handler, the young Noémie Mercille died of cancer last Sunday.

Diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic neuroblastoma in June 2012, when she was barely 2 years old, Noémie went into remission 13 months later, after multiple treatments and surgeries. Unfortunately, the cancer reappeared in November 2018.

Fascinated by the police world

Monday’s episode of District 31 was dedicated to the girl of the arr. of Saint-Hubert.

“The whole team of District 31 would like to dedicate tonight’s episode to Noémie, a fan very special that passed away yesterday, after eight years of fighting against two cancers, could we read Monday on the Facebook page of the show. You could see Noémie in our documentary District 31 – Beyond the Uniform. She wanted to become a dog handler. We offer our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of our little heroine. ”

Noémie had received the surprise visit of two actors of the series, Vincent-Guillaume Otis and Sébastien Delorme, on December 12, 2019, in her room at Sainte-Justine hospital. The two men took the opportunity to give him several gifts, including a poster autographed by all the actors, a few articles seen regularly in the show and his own personalized access card.

This is thanks to a Facebook post from Noémie’s mother, noticed by The Journal of Montreal, that the meeting had been organized. The publication in question recounted Noémie’s visit to the headquarters of the Longueuil Agglomeration Police Department (SPAL) and described her as a frequent viewer of the show.

Tribute from SPAL

The SPAL also paid tribute to the young girl on its Facebook page.

“SPAL wishes to add its voice to that of the entire District 31 to greet one last time a young girl who has left a deep mark on us all by her kindness, her courage and her determination. Good rest Noémie and watch over us. You will always be one of us in our hearts. ”
