At least 36,160 patients have lost their lives as victims of Covid-19.
The Iranian Ministry of Health has notified this Tuesday 8,932 new cases of coronavirus in 24 hours, an unprecedented daily balance since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and that raises the provisional balance of positives in Iran to 637,712.
The Islamic Republic, the Middle Eastern country most affected by the pandemic, has been recording the worst data in the historical series in recent weeks. This Tuesday has reported 422 more deaths, slightly below the 440 reported on
Monday and that meant a new record.
At least 36,160 patients have lost their lives victims of Covid-19, while 5,378 are admitted in serious condition, in intensive care units, according to the official balance collected by the Mehr news agency. The number of recovered exceeds 495,000.
The second wave of infections has forced the authorities to tighten restrictions in the areas with the highest prevalence of the virus, including Tehran, although for now the Government does not contemplate a new confinement.
The Executive has called on citizens to respect preventive health protocols.
