On Monday night, a young woman who was driving a car, in an apparent drunken state, ran over 17 people who were walking on Puebla Avenue, in the San Miguel neighborhood and later hit a business.
According to the police report, the girl was speeding a Chevrolet vehicle, type Aveo, of recent model and allegedly lost control and rammed several residents that were on the public highway.
After rolling them crashed into the metal curtain of a business it was already closed.
Other neighbors ran to help the people who were left lying on the asphalt layer, most of them with blows to various parts of the body.
The emergency services of the neighboring municipalities of Tepetlixpa and Atlautla came to the site of the accident to transfer the injured to a hospital in the volcanoes region.
Some of the injured were treated in the same place of the accident and others were taken to the health center of the same community.
The driver was arrested and handed over to the Municipal Police. Elements of the National Guard arrived in the town to participate in emergency work.
