The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) reported on Tuesday that it had not received the rejection of a request for an arrest warrant against Luis Videgaray, former Secretary of the Treasury and Chancellor in the government of the PRI Enrique Peña Nieto.
“The Federal Public Ministry has not received from a Control Judge any rejection of the request for an arrest warrant against Luis“ V ”2, the Prosecutor’s Office reported in an informative note published this Tuesday.
The day before, journalist Carlos Loret de Mola Loret de Mola, columnist for EL UNIVERSAL, reported on Twitter that the Prosecutor’s Office had requested an arrest warrant against Videgaray but that it had not succeeded.
“This is confirmed to me by top-level sources in the Judiciary and the FGR. They explain to me that the Prosecutor’s Office can rethink their request and insist on obtaining the arrest warrant,” Loret de Mola said.
The agency explained on Tuesday that requests for more information, when there are any, are processed within the secretariat required at the stage in which the process is at.
“When the results of the actions of the FGR, in this matter, can be made public, this duty of information will be fulfilled immediately,” he added.
Loret de Mola wrote: “The 100-page document was presented before the Judicial Branch raising the arrest warrant against Videgaray. My sources confirm that the Judicial Branch” batted “the document, and the FGR fell back to rearm the petition and try again to get the order. “
The investigation against Videgaray derived from the complaint filed last August by the former director of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), Emilio Lozoya, in which he also accused three former presidents of the Republic of participating in acts of corruption.
“In the case of Emilio” Z “, the investigation and integration of files are by ministry of law of obligatory secrecy. This institution has not leaked any type of data in this regard; and, as always, when the answers are obtained from the Judicial Power, they will be announced, “added the Prosecutor’s Office led by Alejandro Gertz Manero.
