The Director General of the Chemin-du-Roy School Services Center, Luc Galvani, followed up on the closure of Cardinal-Roy Elementary School. Remember that Public Health required that all students be tested for COVID-19 following an outbreak.
Well, 32 people tested positive, including 11 children. This means that no less than 21 of the 40 staff members are infected with COVID-19, which forces the school to switch to distance education, until November 13.
“Starting tomorrow, families with material needs to enable their child to follow distance education will have to come to school to collect the equipment. There are 112 families in need of electronic devices, and 14 families in need of Internet access, ”said Mr. Galvani.
“We will also be offering computer support to parents who are less familiar with the technology.”
Public Health carried out its site visit to assess all the measures put in place and recommendations will be issued following this visit. As a preventive measure, staff members who had received a negative test will be re-tested before returning to class.
The Cardinal-Roy school has a little less than 250 students. The Chemin-du-Roy School Service Center has identified approximately 125 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the school year.
