Culiacán government employee murdered during volleyball game

The State Attorney General’s Office is investigating the murder of José Alejandro “N”, 35, on a sports field in this city where a volleyball match was being held, with the presence of dozens of spectators who allegedly crossed bets.

According to the first data, on Thursday night, in the Agustina Ramírez neighborhood, 100 people gathered at the sporting event when armed people fired at the victim.

Through the 911 emergency line, the Culiacán Municipal Police were notified about detonations in a sports field, so when responding to the call, they found the body of José Alejandro “N”, an employee of a state agency.

According to the information, on Circulo del Sol street, the residents of the Agustina Ramírez neighborhood set up a volleyball court to hold sports matches every night, with supposedly crossing bets among spectators.

At the scene, the forensic experts from the State Attorney General’s Office collected casings from a nine-millimeter weapon, evidence and testimonies of the events to initiate the first investigations.
