E-karting and sports simulators in the same complex in Brossard –

By Katherine Harvey-Pinard

South Shore karting enthusiasts have much to celebrate. The Goplex e-karting + indoor entertainment center, which offers 40,000 square feet of play space, has opened on boul. Taschereau, in Brossard, on October 17.

It is one of the only resorts, if not the only one, to offer both activities in the same building, according to one of the owners, Joseph Ciccarello.

The electric kart track is illuminated with LED lighting and a sound simulation accompanies the drivers as they race. The track is also made up of flexible equipment; its layout can therefore be easily changed.

The complex has five golf and multisport simulators (hockey, soccer, baseball, dodgeball, zombie shooting, bowling, disc golf).

“In these difficult times, to see the smile in the eyes of people, to give them a little joy, it is something that is close to our hearts,” said Joseph Ciccarello at Southern Mail. It feels good to see the world having fun doing a safe activity. ”

Ultimately, Goplex will offer private and conference rooms as well as catering and bar service.

“We are really classified as high-end and we are looking to join the corporate side to do team building and events, ”let the owner know.

Ready to face the pandemic

Initially, the complex was to open in March. With the pandemic, plans have changed. The owners decided to open in mid-October, despite the fact that the region was, and still is, in the red zone.

“Of course we had the courage to do that in the middle of a pandemic, but all the steps had been taken before,” said Joseph Ciccarello.

The owners made sure that the sanitary measures established by public health were respected.

“We had the chance to prepare,” he says.

Since these are sports that are played individually in front of the screen, it is easier to enforce distancing measures. As for the equipment, it is cleaned between each use, assures Mr. Ciccarello.
“We have a Sanibox that disinfects all helmets every eight minutes,” he says.

“The reservation is made online. We have QR Codes for registration, so no need to use iPads. You enter the complex, you are pre-registered, you just have to do your activity, ”he lists.

It was also natural for the owners that the complex is located in Brossard because of the proximity to Montreal, he told the newspaper.
