The president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, closed the week by leading his usual morning conference with the media, from the National Palace.
At the event, the president announced that, in order to face the economic crisis generated by COVID-19, the dispersal of the advance payment of pensions for older adults and children with disabilities for the November-December two-month period has already begun.
López Obrador pointed out that in both programs there are around 9 million beneficiaries.
The head of the federal Executive added that it is expected that by the end of the month all the support for these programs will have been delivered.
“It is important that it is known that the dispersal of resources to pay pensions for the elderly and children with disabilities has already begun. It is the last payment of the year, it is the November-December two-month period.
“We hope that by the end of the month all support will have been delivered to older adults and children with disabilities. We are talking about pensions for 8 million older adults and about one million pensions for children with disabilities,” reported the president in the National Palace.
