Ssa records 93 thousand 772 deaths from COVID-19


The Ministry of Health (Ssa) reported that Mexico adds a total of 93 thousand 772 deaths from COVID-19 and 949 thousand 197 cases positive for the virus, that is, 554 more deaths, and an increase of 5 thousand 567 infections compared to the past Wednesday.

José Luis Alomía, director of Epidemiology, commented that the active epidemic is made up of 46,360 people who were infected in the last 14 days, that is, they can still transmit the virus, a figure that is equivalent to 4% of all positive cases accumulated.

He added that since the first COVID-19 patient was reported to date, 701,837 people have recovered from the respiratory disease, which means 73%.

He noted that Chihuahua maintains alerts for hospital occupancy by registering 86% in general beds and 63% in critical beds. “Although there was a small, very small decrease, we hope that by expanding the hospital reconversion the situation will improve,” he said.
