The windows of eight bus shelters of the Société de transport de Trois-Rivières (STTR) were smashed and graffiti was also drawn.
The shards of glass were quickly cleaned to ensure user safety, but the repair work is expected to take several weeks.
This situation arises at a time when colder temperatures are to be expected in the coming weeks and inevitably affects the safety as well as the comfort of users. The STTR is currently working with the police department of the City of Trois-Rivières to identify those responsible.
“The STTR network is public and belongs to all citizens. I find it sad to see people damaging our collective goods and I obviously have a thought for our users who will suffer the direct consequences of these misdeeds ”, explains Michel Byette, president of the STTR.
Finally, the STTR invites the public to communicate with the police department of the City of Trois-Rivières for any information likely to advance the investigation.
